Welcomeheadshot

The website is your source for information about infants, children and teens with Gastroesophageal Reflux (GER) and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), offering support and hope to parents and caregivers.

Getting Started

Whether your child was just diagnosed or you have been dealing with reflux for a long time, go to the Reflux Info section for information on symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. There is also advanced information on a variety of topics of interest to parents.

The Reflux Mom

Parents often wish their children came with a set of instructions. This is especially true when you have a baby or child with Gastroesophageal Reflux. Jan Gambino, The Reflux Mom and the mother of two children with reflux wrote the guidebook she wished existed when her children were struggling with reflux. Whether your baby has Gastroesophageal Reflux (GER) or your toddler or child has Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), parenting a child with reflux can test the patience and coping skills of even the most seasoned parent. Reflux 101 offers information, support and practical tools for coping with reflux, guiding the reader through a difficult season of parenting.

Jan Gambino holds a B.S. degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Boston University and a Masters degree in Early Childhood/ Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has over 15 years experience working with infants and preschoolers with special needs and reflux.  Jan held the position of associate director of a reflux patient support organization for over 6 years, offering support and information to hundreds of parents worldwide. She has published articles on pediatric reflux in Asthma and Allergy Today and Exceptional Parent Magazine. Jan writes a weekly blog on all aspects of parenting a child with reflux for The HealthCentral Network.

Jan lives in Maryland with her three children and two cats. She spends most of her time spewing helpful and graphic information about gastroesophageal reflux to friends and strangers or driving her van with vanity plates that read: GERDMOM.
